GymFu.com – Serious fitness minigames.
I’m going to start something new.
I just downloaded this wonderful little app called “PushupFu” for my iPhone. Basically, among other things, it’s an app that will help me train to be able to do 100 pushups after 10 weeks of training.
I’ll review it in a bit more detail in a day or two. Right now, I just want to get it out that I’m doing this program. It’ll help me be accountable.
On Friday, my test led me to 7 pushups to failure. Yep. I’m a weakling. But let that encourage you! If I can do this, so can you.
I took Saturday and Sunday off before beginning my official training.
Monday, I did the following (commas represent a short break):
3, 2, 2, 2, 2, 3+
Basically, the last one is to failure, but you should do at least 3.
I did 10. Whoo hoo! That’s 21 in all, with 10 in a row at the end.
Tomorrow, I’ll do:
4, 3, 2, 2, 3+
And I’ll blog about it. Join me on my journey to 100 pushups.
Great progress Rob! There’s four keys to success to reaching 100 pushups: 1) Nutrition: eat good food! 2) Rest: do pushups no more frequently than every other day to allow your muscles to recover. 3) Commitment: 10 weeks is a long time, but if you stick to it you will see the results. 4) The wall: many people hit a wall at a certain number of reps. Push through the wall and you will achieve your goals (we know – we’ve seen our stats!)
Good luck! Jof
