I'm sorry someone said something so cruel and false to you, Bob. In your darkest moments you have ALWAYS been our dear Bob, and always will. Nothing you could do would ever change that. I'm so happy you have found peace, joy and your wonderful lady who loves you so much. :-) I'm so glad you didn't end things during your darkness. You are such a bright spot in so many of our lives. :-)

I, for one, care about IE 6,7 and 8. I have to. Based on recent stats, somewhere between 30 and 50 percent (http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp, http://www.w3counter.com/globalstats.php) of internet users still use those browsers. We can't be ignorant of that fact (as much as we'd like to be). If a site doesn't work, a user just won't come back.

Who care about IE6, 7, or 8? They're so far behind other browsers it's not even worthwhile to care that they don't support HTML5 or most of the current CSS3.

I've used some flash in various places, but I wouldn't be unhappy to see it go away for good. I agree with Apple that it is buggy and has issues. H.264 is the new way. In fact, in a new Mashable poll, over double the readers preferred to see Flash go bye bye.

Okay - I have to comment on the last part. SWFAddress is a wonderful script that allows linking to specific pages. As for the Flash hating: when used right, flash is an awesome tool. It allows for user interaction and animations that won't be possible to replicate cross-browser (IE7 and 6 included) with HTML 5, CSS and javascript for a very long time coming. It has it's place - it just needs to be used right by people who know what they're doing... like any other tool.

Yeah, it's great. First encountered it in gross anatomy. You have to look hard to find it outside of hospital supply stores, but it's worth it.
